The Pavia School of Hydrology boasts a long-standing tradition and has been a reference point for all of Italy in the field of hydrology for over half a century through its Specialization School. Notable directors have included internationally renowned figures such as Prof. Pietro Mascherpa, Prof. Giannantonio Bocconi and Prof. Francantonio Bertè. The school has trained a significant portion of the hydrologists currently active in Italy.
The Master in Medical Hydrology and Thermal Medicine at the University of Pavia is now considered historic, having been active for over 15 years. It has reached its 16th edition, with more than 200 graduates who have completed the program
In the context of internationalization, FEMTEC (World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy, founded in 1937) collaborates with this Master’s program. FEMTEC brings together public and private institutions representing thermal establishments in their respective countries. It currently has over 30 member countries and is a non-governmental organization (NGO) accredited by the World Health Organization (WHO).
